The Book of Sith hardcover is a beautifully crafted book made to look like an incomplete journal. Instead of a history of the Sith, we are treated to writings and musings of various Sith Lords throughout the ages. The overall narrative is given by Darth Sidious and he contributes various snark to other passages as well. Ventress, Luke Skywalker, Mace Windu and Yoda weigh in among others. The texture of each section is different and accurately represents its section. After opening thoughts, the first section chronicles the rise of the Sith Empire by Sorzus Syn. She was not a Sith, but subjugated the species and her group became their masters. How history might have been different if the Jedi has killed them instead of banishing their group instead at the end of the hundred year war. She details various Sith subspecies, weapons, armaments, amulets, houses of power, holocrons, war beasts, alchemy, incantations and prophecy. From there we find a bit of Darth Malgus' journal. These events happened before the book Deceived. The battle details are interesting and it is noted that he was not always supported in his efforts.Darth Babe weighs in on the Rule of Two, the closest this book comes to a guide on how the Sith order works. Apprentices are expected to kill their masters in that never ending search for power. This section also includes bits on lightsaber variants and combat, Dark Side combat and Sith armor.Mother Talzin described Wild Power of the Nightsisters, who reject the terms of light and dark sides of the Force. They are witches concerned with channel spirits of the living and dead. Palpatine particularly hates their point of view, though he does admire some aspects of their power.Darth Plagueis describes his experiments in alchemy, using midichorians to create and destroy life. A particular note by Luke Skywalker mentioned his horror at noting creation of a being with a high midichorian count, which turned out to be his father.Sidious closes out the book with his treaties on absolute power, the weakness of interiors and the book of anger. He believed he would live forever, such was his arrogance. The Rebel Alliance and Luke Skywalker out an end to that. I would've loved to see notes from Snoke and Kylo Ren, but this book was produced before the Force Awakens was released. A great read for Star Wars fans and a must for Dark Side lovers.
