This is an excellent overview of Marcel Dzama's career to date and if it's your first Dzama book this is the best place to start. Pages 10-33 give a well illustrated biography of the artist's background and his influences. Pages 35-43 is a fun taxonomy of recurring Dzama characters, themes and icons. Pages 45-56 is an interview. Pages 65-240 is the heart of the book filled with page after page of wonderful artwork including his dioramas, collages, drawings, and film stills. Then the last 30 pages is an excellent color sketchbook section. There's a little bit from the many different periods of Dzama's output in the artwork section making this a greatest hits survey of the artist's work. The reproductions are crisp and clear on high quality paper within a sturdy hardcover. Highly recommended for both new and old fans alike.
